Tom Foskett-Barnes is a London-based composer and musical director for film and theatre.
Primarily interested in politically and socially charged work, Tom was Sound and Music Composer in Residence with ROLI as part of the Embedded_Innovate Scheme, which culminated with the screening of MIDWAY, an audio-visual work about the residents of a council estate in Islington, in collaboration with Marco Alessi. Short film credits include Black Sheep (Best Short Doc, Sheffield Doc Fest, dir. Ed Perkins, 2017), a coming of age story about race relations in contemporary Britain.
For stage, Tom has composed for productions of Twelfth Night and Othello (Leicester Square Theatre), as well as All’s Well That Ends Well and The Two Gentleman of Verona (Changeling Theatre), and for The Old Vic (One Voice). Tom was Musical Associate for Academy-nominated composer Gary Yershon for The Broken Heart (The Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre, RADA).
Tom trained at the Royal College of Music as a Soirée d'Or Scholar generously supported by a Clifton Parker Award, and was also the recipient of a BAFTA UK Scholarship.
Tom is delighted to have been selected as part of the Old Vic 12.
